Fresh Salon hosts ARROJO Happy Monday

On Monday September 26th Fresh salon was proud to host ARROJO'S Happy Monday event, offering complimentary education to over 90 hairdressers from Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas.

At the event, Nick Arrojo and Gerard Scarpaci, two pioneers of modern creative hairdressing, demonstrated contemporary techniques in scissor and razor cutting, as well as creative and editorial styling. The idea: show the value of proper craftsmanship and creative versatility; inspire with fashion-forward and functional, beautiful, wearable hair; and display techniques stylists can use to feel motivated, and to improve their work with clients on the salon floor.

Happy Monday was a great success and Fresh looks forward to hosting again in the near future! Be sure to check out some photos of the event!

We are sad to announce the departure of a longtime friend and amazing colorist, Ehren Clodfelter. Ehren was an extremely important part of the Fresh family and an invaluable asset to the Fresh team. We would like to wish Ehren the best of luck as he moves forward with his life in New York.

Fresh is aware that it may be hard to adjust from a colorist with whom you are compatible and feel completely comfortable with and we are absolutely prepared to help each and everyone of you transition in the smoothest way possible. In order to provide you with the same FRESH results, Ehren has left behind several recommendations which we will be happy to pass along in the thoughts of offering the same great service he continued to provide you.

What is Trend Vision you ask ... In this annual competition, stylists choose one of the trends created by Wella Professionals trend forecasters and by Global Creative Directors. Stylists competed in one of two categories:

YOUNG TALENT: Open to hairdressers of 30 years of age or younger, this category honors the best in class interpretation of a Trend Vision 2011 trend that delivers an overall look.

COLOR: The color category is open to stylists of all ages, and recognizes exceptional color work interpreting a Trend Vision 2011 trend.

We would like to take the opportunity to once again thank each and every one of you who contributed to the Angel's Dog Rescue and Adoption fundraiser we recently sponsored. It was a great success, Fresh Salon raised over $500 towards the rehabilitation of these animals in need.

Dear Fresh Salon,

Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to raise money for Angel’s Dog Rescue and Adoption!

The money raised has allowed me to rescue a beautiful English Setter, Mona, and her 9 two week old puppies from the Catawba County Animal Shelter! Mona was dropped off at the shelter in very poor health condition and in desperate need of medical attention! Mona and her puppies were due to be euthanized if someone did not take them immediately!

The money Fresh raised is paying for her and the puppies’ medical needs! They are all doing great; Mona is thriving and ‘FEELING FRESH’ again! Thank you again for helping me save these precious animals!

Anthony Craig Butler, originally from the North Carolina coast, made his move to Charlotte in 2002. After the completion of his year long training at the Paul Mitchell Academy in 2004, Anthony was rewarded the opportunity to work backstage with the Paul Mitchell artistic team in both Winston Salem, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. While at his previous salon, Anthony studied with such companies as Vidal Sassoon, Tigi, Orbie, and Sebastian. Later, Anthony was given the chance to complete the Paul Mitchell associates program, which provided him the opportunity to teach several professional classes. Since becoming part of the Fresh team in August 2010, Anthony has been quoted saying, “I have found a freedom to teach my clients how to fall in love with their hair again.” He has a strong love for the hands on aspect and bringing his creative visions to life. Anthony’s passion and determination to perfect his skill as well as his desire to offer the highest customer service has made him a valuable asset to the art of hair styling.

The Brazilian Hair Straightening treatment is an innovative process that transforms the hair without chemically altering the hair strands, but by sealing the hair in keratin. Keratin is the primary protein of the skin, hair and nails. The use of a keratin-based product adds moisture and strength to hair damaged by blow drying, coloring and traditional relaxers.

Lasio Brazilian Straighteners offers a gentle, commitment free, alternative to anyone that wants to relax their hair but would like to avoid the destructive results of a traditional straightener. Lasio's innovative treatments will never break the hair bonds, instead they will form a protective coating over the hair that will impart a brilliant shine. Our keratin based formulas will rebuild and strengthen hair while locking in moisture and leaving it absolutely frizz free.

Our treatments are effective on all hair types and can be used over color treated, processed, damaged or previously relaxed hair. The results will last 3 to 4 months and it will gradually wash out of the hair without leaving any lines of demarcation. This is the perfect solution for anyone that wants healthy and manageable hair.

What to expect:

The treatment will relax your hair. It will soften your wave considerably and remove frizz. Your hair will eventually revert to its original texture. It will not damage your hair. It can be applied over previously relaxed, color treated or otherwise processed hair. Do, dry your hair quickly to a sleek finish if your hair gets wet or you perspire.
Do, wait the entire time required before washing your hair (24 hours).
Do, use sodium chloride free shampoos and conditioners only (these will be provided to you at no additional cost, post the completion of your service).

Matter Of Trust

Fresh Salon is proud to announce that we are currently contributing to Matter Of Trust. Matter of Trust is an ecological charity operating the Hair Mat and Oil Spill program. Salon owners from around the United States, Canada and beyond also contribute by sending their hair clippings in recycled shampoo boxes lined with large plastic garbage bags. The swept up hair is shipped to specific US manufactures who weave them into mats that can soak up oil and clean our beaches and harbors.

Recycled hair clippings are also made into hair "booms" which are sausage shaped. Hair is stuffed into recycled nylons (with mesh to provide an strong exterior). These booms are then tied together and are then used to encircle and contain oil spills to keep oil from spreading. They protect fragile coves and habitats.

Each of you will be excited to know that you yourself have made a contribution without even being aware. Over the past several months while visiting the salon for your regularly scheduled appointments, your hair clippings have been gathered and sent to assist in purifying the gulf and saving wildlife.

Good Morning Friends and Fans of Fresh. Its been quite some time since we last blogged, and we are writing to update you on some of the new exciting things we have going on here at Fresh Salon.

There have been some recent additions to our website www.afreshsalon.com, if you haven't stopped by to check it out lately be sure to do so. Several new photos have been added to the gallery section, in both our Salon gallery and our Team gallery. If you haven't had a chance to visit the salon yet or are still missing your favorite stylist, head over to take your virtual photo tour and find that face you've been missing.

Fresh Salon is currently running some new promotions through the month of September.

We are also very excited to announce that this coming October 17, Fresh Salon will be participating in the Fall Fest at the Promenade. The Fall Fest is scheduled to take place between 11am and 3pm and will feature a costume contest, pumpkin decorating and crafts, a super obstacle course inflatable, a magic show and hay rides. Fresh Salon will be in action at the festival doing hair painting, braiding and decorating. Be sure to come out and visit our tent!

Fresh Salon in Charlotte Grand Opening

This past weekend was Fresh Salon in Charlotte, North Carolinas Grand Opening party!! The event was a great success and we wanted to send out a warm Thank You to all of our clients, friends and family who participated. Your support has gotten us where we are today and with this continued support we will only continue to grow both as a salon and a team!

Fresh Salon would also like to thank Wella, Davines, The dermatology laser and vein specialist of the Carolinas, and several of the restaurants and boutiques in the Promenade shopping center. Wolfgang Puck, Arooji's, Robeks, Leah & Co., Carolina Cafe & Bakery and Zen massage.

A special thanks goes out to La Tea Da's catering, who catered the event this past weekend. Not only was the food amazing, they were generous enough to donate a gift certificate to raffle off! Congratulations to all our winners, and Thank you again so much for coming out.

If you didn't get a chance to stop by this weekend, please be sure to... several of our photos from our Trend Vision photo shoot have made their way on the walls and really give the salon a pop. I need to send out another big thank you to Bigg's Camera who got our prints to us in excellent condition and on a super short deadline.

There are many more exciting things coming up here at Fresh Salon so keep your eyes and ears peeled. Some new promotions are on the way, and we are offering new texture tandum treatments!!

Hello Fresh Fans! We hope everyone had a great weekend and are back to work rested and ready to go. This is just a quick update to let you know what has been going on here at Fresh Salon.

Yesterday a photographer came out to Fresh and did some final location shots of the finished product. We are excited to get them back and get them out there for everyone to see. We will be sure to post some on our facebook page and put them up on the website so go check them out!

We currently have been working on planning our grand opening party. Everyone here at Fresh is super excited and if your interested in coming, please be sure to stop by the website and send us your information and we will be sure to send you an invite.

The photos from the shoot are in the process of being touched up and should be ready for your viewing pleasure very soon!

For those of you who didn't know we are now listed on a few websites such as citysearch, yelp, merchant circle and others so if you get a chance please stop by and let us know what you think about the salon and how your visit was. Thank you to all of our fans who have already taken the time to get out there and post some reviews for us. The feedback we are getting is fantastic and it makes coming to work here that much better :)

Just a quick note to let all of our Fresh Fans and clients out there that we are currently riding on the wave of technology and are now a WiFi hotspot! So start making those lunch time appointments! You can get your hair done and work at the same time :) ... or you can just come relax and surf the web!

Fresh Photo Shoot

Well this weekend was crazy, but a very good crazy :) We wanted to write and let our colorists and stylists know just how proud we are of them for rocking it out this weekend. Our girls pulled all nighters and we couldn't appreciate it more! It amazes us more and more everyday to come to work and see just how talented the staff here at Fresh Salon truly is. We also need to send a big huge Thank you out to all our models who did an awesome job. Be on the lookout for photos and video footage from the past weekend... Stopped by the salon today to check on construction. All lighting is in. Flooring has begun and should be completed by Friday. Millwork supports are in and final coat of paint is on. Have a fresh day.
